13 March 2026 BYD and its premium brand DENZA will together form a strong presence at this year’s Goodwood Media Drive Day on 17th March. The eagerly-awaited driving day, which takes place at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, will give influential media and content creators the chance to experience BYD’s newest and most popular models, representing a comprehensive mix of its New Energy Vehicle (NEV – plug-in hybrid and fully electric) powertrains.
On the BYD front, the EV family will be represented by two award-winning cars: the DOLPHIN SURF city car and the SEAL saloon. The DOLPHIN SURF is the entry point into the BYD range with a starting price of £18,675. It will be available to drive in BOOST trim; its 43.2 kWh battery enables a WLTP range of 200 miles. Its big brother, SEAL, will feature in EXCELLENCE guise, offering a dual motor powertrain capable of 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds.
The brand’s DM-i plug-in hybrid technology will be showcased by the new SEALION 5 and SEAL 6 Touring. The SEALION 5 enters the competitive family SUV class with a starting price of £29,995, offering plug-in hybrid technology at a price comparable to many petrol alternatives. The SEAL 6, available in both Saloon and Touring body styles, is capable of a WLTP range of up to 935 miles*. Both models combine an electric motor with BYD’s 1.5-litre Xiaoyun petrol engine, which delivers a class-leading thermal efficiency of 43.04%.
On track, DENZA will give guests the opportunity to experience two of the models that are destined for the UK market. The Z9GT, which wowed the crowds at last year’s Festival of Speed with its distinctive design and three-motor plug-in hybrid powertrain and raft of technology, will be available to drive on the iconic 2.367-mile Motor Circuit. Meanwhile, the rugged B5, complete with its DMO (Dual-Mode Off-road) powertrain, delivers a total power output of 677bhp.
